Honestly, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I changed my major at least five times in college before graduating with a degree in psychology, and it wasn't until I was in the middle of my Grad School internship that I realized mental health counseling (in the most common, practical sense) wasn't the right career choice for me.
So, there I was, in my mid twenties (a grown up in my mind), with 5 years of formal education and 3 years working in the field under my belt, and absolutely no idea where my life was headed.
The problem wasn't that I didn't want to help people or listen to them talk about what was going on in their lives; I just hated paperwork and bureaucratic bulls*t! So, how could I help people feel better and deal with their issues without drowning in the sorrow that comes with patient files and state agency red tape?
And then it hit me... HAIR!
Any time I'd gone through some sort of major life change, my hair changed, too! Blonde, purple, red, brown, short, long, stacked, layered... every style had a story behind it, and every appointment had felt like a therapy session.
To me, hair is like an expression... of who we are or want to be; or what w're going through or feeling in the moment. And so that, I decided, was how I could help others and still keep myself happy in the process.
For those who don't know me already, I'm a perfectionist. My current clients truly appreciate my attention to detail and the time and care I take to create the perfect look for their hair. In order to stay at the top of my game, I am constantly searching for education on the latest techniques and trends.
I love to build honest, genuine relationships with my clients, and to really listen to their wants and needs (I guess that must be the therapist in me!)
If your hair isn't showing on the outside who you are on the inside, book an appointment with me and we'll get you headed in the right direction. I can't wait to meet you!
